Jami and Eisley started the month of with a trip to Austin to see some friends while Poppa was in Phoenix.   They had a good time catching up and hanging out but Poppa sured missed his girls.  They got to go on some walkabouts and Eisley worked hard to keep up.  We have found her to have a rather short stamina so far but we will build up her endurance I’m sure.

Time continues to fly by.  Eisley has had several Easter Egg runs already with a couple more to come still before Easter actually comes.

She has really become quite the parrot lately and seems to understand a lot too.  She talks to her Sesame Street dolls and has them do her bidding at times.  Some mornings her Elmo or Zoe doll really wants to watch Sesame Street or some other show.  She has had her moments of pushing boundaries from the clothes she wears, food she eats or doesn’t eat, changing diapers to wanting to drive the car after coming home.  Overall she continues to be  a sweet girl that laughs easily and obeys well.

Of course she ended the month with her big 2 year old birthday.  We didn’t really celebrate anything crazy.  Mom and Dad took little one to Chuckee Cheese briefly for some games and pizza and then came home and had some cupcakes.  Nothing too crazy……..until she gets older that is.

Momma is continuing to do well.  She is complaining about her size for some reason…..??? We had a sonogram on Monday and all looked well.  Baby’s weight is 4lbs 13 oz and is scheduled to be bigger than Eisley’s 8lb 6 oz.  We’ll see.  Time is ticking fast and mom and dad’s list of things to do keeps growing instead of shrinking.  We did get the master bath retiled and a new sink and cabinet put in.  Much more to do still though.

So another one down.  Of course, Valentine’s Day was lots of fun with the family.  Eisley was able to celebrate at Poppa’s school and at her school.  She had several cute outfits and enjoyed some extra sweets.

Momma continues to ripen and is doing well.  Tentative due date is 21st of May.   We are excited and have been talking about being a big sister with Eisley and she likes to talk to momma’s belly.  Of course, Eisley still tells others she has a baby in her belly too so we aren’t sure how much is really sinking in.
This month has seen little Miss’s vocabulary continue to increase.   She loves Sesame Street and particularly Elmo and Zoe.  Aunt Steph accompanied us to go see Sesame Street Live at the end of the month.  It was fun to watch her sing some songs and recognize the charcters.  Now she has other friends that have to join her for nap and bed time. Oh boy!!

She has several songs tunes down pretty well and lyrics to go with most.  Favorites include: Happy and you know it, Wheels on the bus, Jesus loves me, Twinkle Twinkle, Elmo’s Song, Cookie Monster’s song and some from church.  She loves putting on her lips, chapstick every day.  She also continues to help around the house: unpacking groceries, sweeping, cleaning her toys and other fun things.  Upon her request, we have had some success with more potty time,  We might really start pushing it here during Spring Break when we are both home during Spring Break.

January has been a recoop month after the craziness of December.  Nothing too exciting going on.  Momma is on schedule with baby #2 and feeling good still.  She has been a little tired still but is still able to keep up with little miss so far.

Some little stinker is a little addicted to Sesame Street and still loves the Grinch Who Stole Christmas.  She is fairly certain that every TV that she sees should be only showing these shows and will try to convince the owner to find it for her.   Eisley continues to be very musical.  She hums and sings the tune to many tunes including the ABC’s,  Sesame and Elmo’s theme song and many others.   Eisley has some more teeth coming in but I think they are the very back ones so we might be closer to that being done for a little while.

Christmas time has come and gone.    The month of December has seen little Miss change quite a bit.  She is talking a lot more and starting to show more and more personality.   We are getting longer words and several words strung together now.  She can say that Christmas is about baby Jesus which is awfully sweet.  Papa got to spend extra time with Eisley as school had a nice break.

Eisley was blessed by many friends and family during the Christmas season and wants to tell everyone a big THANKS!!

Eisley has fallen in love with The Grinch movie and book and would watch it repeatedly if we let her.  She will point at the screen and say “bad bad bad” to the Grinch.

Her routine has been pretty good: going to bed around 6:45-7 and waking up around 7 with about a 2 hour nap most days around late morning.  She seems to be a little picky with food unless she is just in the mood.  Eisley will read for a good 20-25 minutes every morning when she wakes up while she drinks a big cup of milk.  We have tried a little bit to do the potty training but it is still a long ways off.  She doesn’t really seem to mind marinating so it might take a while.  Mondays and Thursdays are still MDO days but there were not too many of those during the month of December.  I think she is excited about going back to to school though.

Jami is feeling pretty good overall.  We had a small scare Christmas Eve and ended up going into the ER.  They said it was basically some contractions even though they initially thought it was some type of ligament strain or something.  She has been a little extra tired but I guess that makes sense as she is growing a baby.  We are opting to not find out the gender of this little one until it pops out in May.

Life Oh Life!!

Jami is indeed feeling better. THanks for the thoughts and prayers.  She has even made it past 8 o’clock on several evenings lately.  Energy is back and she is feeling good.

We had a  great visit from Molly Dolly (aka Grammers) mid month!! She came and helped organize our little casa for the newest addition.  She did it all from clean, organize, enterain Eisley, tickely Eislye, chase Eisley, hide and seek with Eisley and much much more!! THanks a ton! Eisley still tries to get her when she sees her on the web cam.  We also got to spend a chilly day at the Arboretum during her visit which was quite nice.

Thanksgiving was petty low key.  We got to see Jackie and the Tiggeman-Morris clan and we still had food left over.  Gotta love that momma!! The twins are too cute and I am sure Eisley is keeping her eye on them for future play dates.  She is really getting to know her soul sister by birth Ms. Abbot.

We also got to see uncle Brandon during a little birthday celebration.  I can’t believe he is only 25. YOu can pay me later Brandon.

Eisley continues to develop normally as far as we can tell.  (We’ll know for sure on number 2.) Her vocabulary is increasing and her personality is starting to show more too.  She can be embarrassed easily and loves to stare a hole in people when out and about.  Eisley has been saying “Ho, Ho, Ho”, counting to 5 and sometimes 10 and also loves to say “Happy Day”.  Her word endings aren’t real clear but she seems to really understand a lot and is able to bring things to mom and dad and follow pretty simple commands. Puzzles are lots of fun and she has been finding matching pictures with the matching game as well as stinging everyone with her fake snake.  She loves to push the limits and doesn’t seem to have a mid cry but rather goes straight to the bloody murder yell when doing mundane tasks like diaper changes or not getting her milk quick enough for her.  Good times indeed.  I guess this is when the real work of parenting starts eh?

Today we walked to our local nursery and picked out our Christmas tree.  We figured we would get it early this year as we haven’t had our own to decorate for 2 years.  If you need any extra ornaments please contact me personally………..I don’t think I see any branches.  Just kidding dear.  We have a bet going as to how many ornaments our little helper will break during the holiday…….I am going with 3 and Jami is going higher. We’ll see.  We are all looking forward to the Christmas break.

This month started off with a bang as we were finishing up the Vegas trip as we got to witness Clay and Jennifer tie the knot.  We were able to go to Mt. Zion National Park in Utah a few hours awar from Vegas.  It happened to be the one rainy and cold day of our entire stay.  Oh well, we made the most of it and had fun.  We are also able to tour the Hoover Dam and a few other parks around it.

Vegas left us all tired and off schedule, but after a few days we all got back on to fairly normal sleep routines.

We found out that we, (Jami), are pregnant before we went to Vegas and have had follow up doctor’s appointments verifying that everything looks good.  We are waiting to find out the sex until the day of just as a little extra surprise.  We have been busy getting the house a bit more organized………aka…..nesting.  Apparently Jami wants to be able to actually use the closets and not just have them stuffed.  Molly will be coming the second weekend of Nov. to help us with that project and of course spoil little one.

We made it to the big mile stone of 18 months.  It has been a pretty fun time as Eisley continues to get more and more personality.

This month saw Eisley start Mother’s Day out twice a week from 9-2:30 on Mondays and Thursdays.  Eisley has adjusted well and now is an afternoon nap taker instead of the morning since that what they do there.  Mom is able to have a little day time to stay on top of work and maybe even relax every once in awhile……if she weren’t so stubborn that is.  Eisley enjoys going and is getting some great socialization time.

We were able to go to the PLano Balloon Festival with the Bobbet family.  We all had a good time and Eisley continued to say “Wow” as she saw all the various balloon inflate and take off.  She chowed down on some kettle corn and enjoyed being outside.

We finished the month off by going to Vegas to see cousin Clay and Jen get married.  THey had an intimate wedding and we enjoyed seeing all the family around that crazy town of Vegas.  We both decided that that  city isn’t the most kid friendly in the world and that it wasn’t really our style.  Lots of things to see and do ………especially watching all the people.  We did get to enjoy a couple of state and national parks though but it did occur just into October so you’ll see them here next month.

Bedtime has been pushed back a little closer to 7 or a little past lately.  Eisley still eats pretty well when she is in the right mood.  She still likes to suck down a liquid veggie with a straw at most meals as well as her breakfast smoothie.  She is getting better at using those utensils but we are not starting the potty training thing quite yet.  Eisley isn’t showing any signs of being ready for that so we are trying not to push it too much.  We love to dance and sing and of course she still loves her books.  She has been doing a lot of tickling lately which is too cute, especially since she tries to do it with her chin since that’s how momma gets her.  Eisley knows a lot of animals by sight and loves to make their sounds as we sing or read. She is a joy and we enjoy all her aspects even when she is a stinker!!

Schweers family saw the summer come to an end this month.  The three of us had a great time and we are all sad to see it come to an end even if it was invetible.  Momma is back to doing the bulk of the parenting as school has started again for poppa.  We are looking at Eisley starting Mother’s Day Out the second week of September which will be good socialization for her and a bit of a break for mom to do have some focused work during the week.

Eisley has continued to bless our lives everyday.  She makes us laugh even if she is in a funk.  Eisley has had a couple of sore teeth nights and days but she has been doing quite well besides that.  She is great at accompanying mom and dad to the mailbox on a daily walk with her little stroller.  She continues to enjoy church child care and other playmates that come over.  Eisley likes to help get her own bib for meals, read,  hide and seek, itsy bitsy, go for walks, bike rides, swimming, dancing, slides and more.  Everyday is a fun new adventure with her and we try not to take any of it for granted.

Cute thins she has done lately:

1. Eisley says “bye bye” to momma when it is bedtime and gives a big smile and wave.  Sleep time remains 6:30 and she is waking up anywhere from 7-8 am.  Also, she really enjoys the pillow mom made her and a blanket when sleeping.

2.  As some water spilt on the floor last week Eisley said “Uh Oh” and then went with poppa to get a napkin.  She went back to the spill and wiped it up.  Too cute!!

New Words

Shoe, quack for a duck, help, moo moo for cow, bock for chicken,  hide

The endless summer has continued for the Schweers family.  We continue to try to beat the heat by staying inside or close to some type of water.  Our condo pool is a few steps away so that makes it easy of course.  We have visited one water park, the zoo, a sprayground and a few libraries too.  At the end of the month we took a long weekend and went out to the Tuttle’s ranch in Grand Saline.  The girls dropped poppa off at Church camp for a  week where I worked with 3rd graders as a camp counselor.  We had a lot of fun but I was happy to get back to my girls.  The summer does seem to be winding down as there are school things planned for this month and apparently even students arrive some time this month.  Oh well, all good things must come to an end I guess.  We will continue to milk the summer for as long as possible.
