Well another one is under the belt.

We started the month off with a trip to Eureka Springs, Arkansas for a friends wedding.  It was a beatiful ceremony and location even if it was a bit chilly.  We got to tool around the town some and check out the flowers outside the haunted Inn between window shopping.  It was nice to be out amongst some nature again even if it was brief.  Eisley enjoyed the indoor pool more than the car ride there and back but we were able to turn the car seat forward so that had to have helped some.

Poppa is looking forward to school being out but there is still plenty of the year to go. The girls even came to support our Grizzly team even though we lost.  Momma is just awesome.  She has so much fun with that little stink of ours and is able work too.  We defintely count our blessing each and every day.

Eisley has indeed been doing some baby stepping.  There still is not walking unassisted for long periods though. Max of 7-8 or so steps set tonight while webcaming with granparents in FL.  She has had a pretty bad rash the last 3 days which the doctor attributes to food allergies.  We are not exactly sure what until further testing but we think it was some Pei Wei rice.  It has not bothered her at all though so that is good.  We have 4 molars popping through the gums but she has not run a fever or been very fussy thank goodness.

Thanks for all the well wishes and checking up on us!!

February has flown by for the Schweers family.  The highlight or lowlight has been our big move.  We are now in our own place after a slow renovation of the kitchen and painting of the rest of the house.  Each day we reclaim more floor space.  All our neighbors have been very sweet and welcoming but it will never be like the Tuttles of course.

Eisley has gone a bit backwards with her sleep patterns……..of course we rescue her now more instead of letting her cry it out since we have neighbors.  Rats! She has been a crawling machine and is now pulling up on every and anything.  Only a few minor bruises so far.  :)    Our little angel has also been working on tooth #9 but it hasn’t pushed through all the way yet.  She is eating lots of solids and table food now.  We might be getting ready for the whole transition soon.   We are also getting a bit more picky about what stays in the mouth.  Hope she doesn’t take after papa.  Eisley loves herself some good books.  She probably takes off all the books on her shelves 4 to 5 times a day and is getting quite adept at turning those pages.  She continues to be a constant source of joy………even at 3:30 am. :)

Well, we have done it again.  A month down in the life of the Schweers Family.  This month we continued Eisley’s coast to coast trip for her first year as we traveled to LA.  David and Jeanne toured us around Los Angeles and the surrounding area.  We got to visit the beach and cruised on up to Joshua Tree National Park.  We did some fun exploring and hiking.   It was a cold day in the desert, but there was very unique scenery all around us.  We had a nice trip all around even though we had plenty of things to do to get ready for our big move.  We are officially moving into our little place since we have completed our kitchen………well almost complete, but move in ready.

Eisley has been developing in leaps and bounds.  She is officially crawling now instead of this side to side stuff.  She crawls as far as she needs to go to find her next toy, and is then very content to hang out.  We know that will be changing soon.  Since she can pull herself into a sitting position, Eisley has managed some very uncomfortable looking sleep positions.  A few times she has cried herself to sleep while sitting up…….about an hour or so later we hear her cry again as she plops over.  Awfully cute!!  She has been pulling up more frequently as one of the crib picture shows.  Her 8 little teeth are awfully cute except that she enjoys grinding them.  Ouch!  She has been feeding herself small things like cheerios and is now trying to use that spoon some too.  Eisley is on ear infection number two and on the advice of doctors, has been taking her first dose of antibiotics.  She seems to be on the mend already and has had a pretty sweet disposition throughout.  She is such a blessing in our life and brings many many smiles to our days………..and nights.

Month 9 January 1, 2008

Filed under: Baby Update — schweers @ 8:23 pm

This month of course has been dominated by the holidays.  It has been a hectic time getting ready for Christmas, finishing the school year and trying to work on the condo too.  We are very grateful for having some family time at the end of the month to get caught up on time together.

Eisley was able to tell Uncle Mike…….I mean Santa exactly what she wanted for Christmas.  Thanks to everyone for all the wonderful gifts.  Jami and I plan to rotate them so that she thinks she is getting something new all the time.  She was not afraid of Santa this year ,but next year she might shy away a little more as she realizes everything going on.

Eisley is real good at crawling backwards but is still working on the whole forward thing.  She is able to feed herself small things like Cheerios and is working on tooth #8 and #9.  She got her first cold at the end of this month and still has it now.  Lots of congestion and coughing but we go in to our doctor Thursday for a 9 month check up anyway.  She is still pretty good about going to anyone but I expect that will change too.

Time keeps on ticking, ticking, ticking…..into the future.  Those lines just came to me. Somebody should probably use those in a song or something.

 Well, another Schweers update.

We started off the month with an extended weekend trip to Branson.  Eisley enjoyed the Shanghai Circus but felt that the 12 Tenors were a little lame.  It was beautiful weather and scenery and it was nice to have some down time for all of us.

Thanksgiving was a major event in this month for our family.  The Tuttles helped to make it even more enjoyable as they got a lot of the nieces and nephews together for a Good Ol’ Time. It was great to see all of Jami’s brothers and their families and some cousins too.  Eisley got her first horse ride. Yes, those are minature horses and not ponies.  Don’t ask what the difference is.  We got out of Thanksgiving without losing too much sanity but there were several sightings of a mysterious Creature around the Tuttle Ranch.  Luckily, Eisley is too young to know what was going on during those frightening days and nights.  The mystery still remains.

Eisley has been working hard on her homework from the pediatrician.  Aunt Steph has almost got Eisley to wave, which is rather cute to watch.  Eisley is now a roll over Queen and has been reported to roll from back to stomach too.  Still not hip on the whole crawling thing, but we are seeing some rocking and some arm swimming.  She is able to recognize and react more to mom and dad entering and leaving but is very content to go to others.  We hope to keep that flexibility up by pawning her off on people as much as possible.  :) She is a very sweet girl and is great at giving me energy when I am tired.

Mom and Dad continue to make baby step advances on the condo. We have the cabinets all put together and most of the drywall done. Now, we just need to get them placed and put up. Oh yeah, and the flooring, some plumbing, buy some appliances, finish Eisley’s room and then start on the bathrooms.  Good thing this is the slow time of year eh? (note: sarcasm should be noted in previous statement)

God continues to bless our household and those we hold dear.  This has been an amazing season in our lives and we just thank Him each day for the blessings that surround us constantly.  Jami and I never thought we could love something as much as we do our little girl but we are finding new depths each day. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

Another exciting month has flown by.  With a recent visit to the doctor we have some new stats to share. Sweet girl weighs in at 20 lbs and 2 ounces and measures 26 3/4 inches long.  She is still in the 95% in weight and 75% in length.  Eisley has gotten better at rolling over but she still does not care much for being stuck on her tummy.  We have the top two teeth creeping in which makes for some added discomfort for mom and baby alike.  Eisley has been an eating machine.  Mom has cooked up all kinds of organic food as we are adding solids to the diet. Favorites include: all kinds of squash, sweet potatoes, pears, apples, corn, cereal and peas.  Not so favorites include: avocado and green beans. Accompanied by an almost wretching sound and look of disgust. That’s my girl!!

Momma went with Uncle Mike and cousin Stacey to New York for 4 days on a little fall trip.   Oma and Opa Schweers came over to give a helping hand.  Of course, momma checked in every day and even was able to see her angel thanks to the webcam! I love technology!!

Of course, we had our first Halloween.  She was a cute little chicken indeed.  We made the rounds in our old neighborhood and she lasted pretty long past the usual bed time.

We also had many friends and family attend Eisley’s dedication.  We are excited to have other people pray for her and us, as well as holding us accountable about raising her in the church.  She is definitely a blessing in our life and we thank God every day for her.

Another month down. With a recent trip to Florida, Ms. Eisley got the chance to meet most of the Florida family.  Eisley was able to visit the beach with Molly, Creston and Ashley and of course Cade and Kirby.  She got to meet her Great Grandpa and Grandma, cousins- Skylah, Naomi, Alexis, Hailey, Jonas, Cade, and Kirby, Aunt Ashley, Uncle Creston, Aunt Mary, Uncle Dan, Aunt Stacey, Uncle Tracey, Uncle Mike, Aunt Sandy, Uncle Josh, and Uncle Jack.  Lots of hands to hold her and love her!

Eisley is continuing to grow.  We might have misweighed last time as we weighed her on the scale with us and then just subtracted her weight from ours. The doctor weighed her officially last week at 18lbs and 3 oz  and she is 26 6/8 inches long.  She continues to be in the 90th percentile in weight and height. She has been teething quite a bit which has disrupted her sleeping habits.  Which of course mom and dad look a little like zombies at times.  The doctor checked her off for rolling over but she still needs some prompting in that department……..it takes quite a bit of momentum to get her going.  She continues to coo, smile and all the other cute things that babies do.

4 Month Update July 27, 2007

Filed under: Baby Update — schweers @ 4:12 am

Wow! I guess it is almost that time again.  So much has happened in this last month.  Eisley got to go on her first big trip to Wyoming to visit some wonderful family.  Grandma and Grandpa Schweers drove in and then we all flew to Wyoming. She was quite a trooper on the plane and all around Yellowstone.  You can she that she participated in a few little hikes but there was a whole lotta driving involved too.  I think I see a love of nature in her already…..of course, she might not have much choice about that.

She got to go visit the ranch and had lots of fun swimming there.  Thanks goodness Mom didn’t even try to put her on a horse yet. I know the time will come though.  She even attended her very first rodeo with lots of friends present.

Eisley continues to grow grow grow!! I know that is what they are supposed to do but she is getting a new nickname around here. Paulette Bunyan.  Little Miss is weighing in at 18 pounds last week which puts her above the 100th percentile in weight.  She is 25 and a half inches long which is right in the middle.  Don’t forget muscle weighs more than fat.  Jami was quick to remind me of this.  Also, the Tooth Fairy has made some early deliveries.  Sweet thing is working on her bottom 2 front teeth that are poking through the gums as we speak.  I think the first tooth is her sweet tooth and the second is her blue tooth. She is so connected!! She has been a drooling machine and loves to chew on her fingers.  She has been a little extra fussy because of this but we just try to distract her as much as possible.

Thanks for the many thoughts and prayers!!

Month 3 June 27, 2007

Filed under: Baby Update — schweers @ 11:43 am

It sounds cliche but……..time really is flying.  I have had summers full of World Cup and travel but this has got to be the best summer ever as I get to know my sweet daughter.  Of course hanging with the wife is pretty sweet too.  Mom and Dad are staying plenty busy with business stuff and of course more family is coming to visit than ever before. Weird!!  We even finally got her baby announcements in the mail. Yeah!!

Eisley continues to pack on the poundage. We are not sure how much but she is up to, but she is still up there.  She is very close to rolling over on her own and enjoys her play gym, bouncer, and of course staring at blank walls. So easily entertained for now.  She is learning the important art of being flexible as mom and dad are on the go quite a bit.  In fact, she just completed her first road trip to San Antonio and she did really well.  Her driving skills are lacking though. Her skin has improved quite a bit due to some Arbonne oil from Molly. Thanks a lot!! Great for cooking too!

Mom stubbed her toe on Father’s Day and now the newly fixed toe hangs a bit limp again.  We are trying to get second opinions as to wether that needs to be fixed.  Seems like  an easy call right?  We are hoping there won’t have to be a second surgery but it would be nice for her to walk normally too.  We’ll see!

Of course, there have been more firsts for little Miss Eisley.  She did her first swimming the other day although we didn’t dunk her.  You can tell from the pictures that is wasn’t all pure joy. She was babysat for a night out to church by a non family member. Thanks Schlaht!! There are more consistent smiles without bowel movements and lots of cooing.     And a little bad news………….. Eisley was diagnosed with Excema after having a rash for a week or so.  I guess she did get something from her momma.  At her 2 month check up she weighed in at 13 pounds 7 ounces which is in the 90th percentile.  She is 24 inches long which is in the 75th percentile.  She is quite the chunk!!!Momma’s milk must have some magic ingredients in it.  We are just happy that she is doing well.  She is starting to get a bit of a schedule going which makes it easier on mom and dad.

Momma’s foot is healing well and she is now out of her cast and just a bit longer with the boot.  Yeah!!
